Abstract

Covers the following information: 1) Instructions for machining, cleaning and inspection of special tapped holes into which 'screw-locking' wire thread inserts are fitted, hereinafter referred to as inserts. 2) Instructions for fitting inserts and for inspection of fitted inserts. 3) Particulars of tapped holes. 4) Details of assembly tools, extraction tools and tang removal tools can be found in TS 139. 5) This installation specification refers to inserts controlled by SBAC drawings AGS 3600-3699 or other drawings referencing this specification for inserts fitted in tapped holes to BS 3409.
