Abstract

Specifies the following information: 1) Instructions for machining, cleaning and inspection of special tapped holes into which 'screw-locking' wire thread inserts are fitted, hereinafter referred to as inserts. 2) Instructions for fitting inserts and for inspection of fitted inserts. 3) Particulars of tapped holes and assembly holes. 4) Details of extraction tools and tang removal tools can be found in TS 140. 5) This installation specification refers to inserts controlled by SBAC drawings AGS 4677 or other drawings referencing this specification for inserts fitted in tapped holes to RS 727.
