ATM-connection Abstract
Enhances the services given by the ATM layer for supporting of functions required by the next higher layer. Carries out functions required by the user, control and management planes and supports the mapping between the ATM layer and the next higher layer. AAL type 3/4 supports the non-assured transfer of user data frames. Internal multiplexing function permits the setting up of several concurrent AAL type 3/4 user connections on one ATM connection. Maintains the data sequence integrity and detects transmission errors on each such connection.
