Defines the layer 1 characteristics of the user-network interface at S- and T-reference points for basic rate ISDN as defined in Recommendation I.412. It defines service characteristics, mode of operation, wiring configuration and functional characteristics. The transmission characteristics, frame structure, line code and activation procedure at the interface are specified to facilitate the access of user equipment to the 2B- + D-channel at a bit rate of 192 kbit/s.
