Defines the transmitter and receiver operation, the synchronization and switching process. It is based on the mechanisms described in ITU-T Recommendation I.432.2 for ATM cell-based transmission systems. It provides hitless protection switching at the Physical Layer between two sources and sinks of F3 OAM flows.
