This standard establishes the requirements for Instrument Panel
(IP) trim and floor consoles used in GM vehicles. All requirements
in this standard apply to each unique IP or console subsystem or
component design and interface. The required functions,
performance, appearance, design constraints, and validation of the
subsystem and their components are defined by this document.
Certain sections or paragraphs are broad in scope as this
document must cover many different constructions, design concepts,
and content levels to meet the needs for the full range of GM
vehicles. The user must follow the specific Vehicle Technical
Specification (VTS) when developing the actual specification. Those
portions of this template that are not applicable because of the
above described variations are to be identified or revised in the
Statement of Requirements (SOR) Appendix C2 to fit the exact needs
for the instrument panel and console, including Emerging Market
specifications.
