Abstract

Describes BITE's role in the airlines' maintenance concept and the BITE characteristics needed in all avionic equipment. Also includes a description of a Centralized Fault Display System. BITE should help the user to gain a reduction in overall costs of maintenance, an improvement in the effectiveness of maintenance, simplification of the procedures and a reduction of special training needed for maintaining the more complex avionics systems.
