Abstract

Covers the design requirements of an avionic function, designated the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Function (ADSF). It sets minimum hardware and software requirements for reliable operation of the ADSF as an Open System Interconnect (OSI) end system. It describes the ADSF to ground-based ADS application end-to-end operation. It also includes a brief overview of the entire Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS) system in order to aid the reader in understanding the ADS environment.
