The requirements include: design (cylinder, valve, gauge, mounting equipment), performance (firefighting effectiveness - hidden fire test, discharge test, type, etc.), environmental (ozone depleting/global warming potential, atmospheric life span), and occupant safety concerns (toxicology - seat fire test).
